Question Bass Traps as Gobos in a Small Room?

Hey guys,

I have a room I want to use for tracking drums that is approximately 9' x 11', concrete floor, drywall walls. I plan on putting bass traps in the 4 vertical corners, as well as a few places on the walls and ceiling.

I would like to put bass traps in every inch of the room, but the kind of bass trapping I need would take up too much real estate. However, I can build gobos and store them in my garage.

If I build some really thick (10" thick) 4' x 4' gobos to place closely around the drums + hang some suspended ceiling bass traps, will this get me anywhere close to how it would be bass trapping the entire room?

Gobos like that will help, but the places you need gobos may not be the same places bass traps work best.

Thanks Ethan!

Here is my diagram I've been working on. I've been told that gobos work best when they are close to the source, and plus I want a dead sound anyway.

Is it doable?

The room is appox. 9 x 11 ft, with an 8 ft ceiling.

I would also put a few panels above the drums.
