What is this white stuff on my fiberglass?

Hey slutz!

Im gonna make some bass traps out of some fiberglassboards i got from a bank that was redecorating.
The boards are an inch thick and weigh about 5pcf. So im thinking I would wrap some textile around six of them and stack them floor to ceiling, all corners of my room.
Now this white stuff on the front of them, i dont know what it is. it is very thin but kind of hard.
Could that present any problems like not making them work as efficient as ones without?
Is it FRK? and in that case, what is that?

all the best to you

I don't know what the white stuff is called, BUT you need to peal it off to work. You could leave the last panel with it on (the piece facing out in the room) when using it to straddle corners for bass trapping. Hard to say how well it will work but having the last piece with the facing on it will have a membrane effect (or is it affect?).
