Mounting panels - stud or plaster?

When it comes to mounting broadband absorbers that are roughly about 5-7kg, would one need to drill into a stud, or would hanging off the plaster wall work just as well?

Considering some bass traps that are hypothetically twice that weight and intended for mounting in corners, would drilling into studs be recommended, or would for instance 2 different hooks on either side of the corner be adequate?

Apologies if this question has been repeated ad-nauseam. I'd just like to see how involved the process of hanging my recently completed panels needs to be.

Thanks!

Lightbulb

I doubt you have to screw into studs, but you do need a mount that's fairly substantial. I recommend Molly bolts for my company's products.

Thanks, Ethan. I'll try the easier (and less destructive) approach, for the broadbands at least.

we recommend ooks professional picture hangers. Welcome To OOK's!!!
They hold up to 90 pounds and don't put NASTY holes in the wall.

Thanks, Glenn. I've seen you recommending those around. I hope they're available here in Oz! Speaking of which, are GIK traps available here?
