Thread Starter | room acoustic advice Hi guys, i've been a reader for a long time and love this place ![]() i need some advice about my room acoustics and monitor positioning. Problem is, i have a low frequency issue and can't seem to get rid of it, i'm attaching a sketch of the room. Been trying to move monitors closer to each other, set table a little closer to the wall and the other way around as well and got the same problem. do i need to get panels for all the walls ? mind you i have non for the ceiling. any help is much appreciated. ![]() Nadav. |

| Start by sitting 38% of the room length. Put bass trapping in as many corners as possible and cover early reflections point with thinner panels. See the following page for some ideas on set up and placement of bass traps/panels. Note that the 38% spot is only a starting point. You may find that moving a bit forward or back will work best. | i'd add one 4-6" panel to straddle the bottom right corner (2 if you can stack em). also, the side wall panels might be better farther down away from the window to catch early reflections from your monitors. |

| Lives for gear | You need to treat that back wall. I'd be willing to bet that that's where much of the low end problem is coming from. If you can't get both back corners, get one and also trap the wall/ceiling corner on the back wall as well. What kind of acoustic panels do you have at the listening position? 2"? 4"? If they're not at least 4" then you're not getting any bass trapping at all. Frank
