knauf board vs. corning 703.

I'm reading on this auction (link below) that this Knauf Board is a direct replacement for Corning 703, basically saying it's 6 or a half dozen. No difference.
Is this the case? If so the Knauf is a little bit cheaper.

Without pulling out the spec sheets on each I can tell you the 3 companies that make a similar product. OC 703, Knauf (mentioned in your post), and Johns Manville. I have used them all and find them interchangeable. Mostly check to see that the density is the same or close to the same as the OC 703 or 705 and you should be good to go.

The one thing I noticed about a batch of Knauf that I used was that the general smell of the fiberglass smelled like a bucket of fish locked up in a car in July for about a week. The smell went away for the most part after a week but every time someone leaned up against a panel it smelled fishy!. Don't know why. And I haven't used it since because the others were available but I wonder if all the batches smell that bad.

I went ahead an ordered 12 Knauf board panels, and I got a nice roll of burlap in the garage waiting for it. thanks for the advice everyone.
