Thread Starter | EDIT: It's too late, can't be done now! I will keep the thread for someone who needs it Hi, as you can read in "Cork is better than rockwool" true? I'm rebuilding my real old living room, the floor and ceiling are made of wood and you can hear my neighbors talking, you can even see his house bellow mine. The walls are REALLY thick, full of sand and other stuff I will never hear something through them. I'm going to put rockwool in the ceiling because that's were I need it, or at least that's what I was thinking. To me rockwool was all about not letting sound in or out, but I'm reading more about acoustics and I noticed that people are building bass traps with rockwool, I know this is really basic and I really should know that for some time. In the walls I will only put drywall becaue I just need to hide them, they are old and ugly. But I wonder if i should put rockwool behind the drywall to improve acoustics? Does rockwool behind drywall improve? I really should have read and searched more before, the problem is that the drywall are being installed as I write this, I already tried to read Acoustic Treatment and Design for Recording Studios and Listening Rooms but don't really find if what i'm thinking now works or not. I will need basstraps because my room is small, and I already them that I didn't need rockwool in the walls because as I said to me it was just about sound isolation and not acoustics I know my question is really from a newbie and that I should have researched before, my fault! sorry Thanks for helping! |
