Thread Starter | My broadband absorbers build thread Inspired by my fellow swede, Cojo I decided some time ago to build some broadband absorbers for my home studio. As with all my projects, I took very long before I actually got started with the construction. I bought some wood almost a year ago, and it has since then been lying under my bed. A couple of weeks ago I finally got inspired to start this project up again, and things are going slow but are steadily advancing in the right direction. This is my first carpentry project since i was like 12 years old, so this is a big challenge for me. The hardest part is getting the cutouts straight (they arent btw, but pretty good for a novice i think). My biggest problem right now is that some of the wood has gotten a bit crooked lying under my bed. I am trying to straighten them out using water and a bit of pressure, which seems to be working ok aside from a few cracks on a few of the planks. Man its alot of work building these, with the cutouts and all. I hope it will be worth it! Anyway, i wanted to share some pics of what kind of state the traps are in right now while waiting for some glue to dry up (had to glue a cracked plank that didnt feel like getting straightened out). I a pretty bad photographer, but i hope you can tell what they look like anyway. Right now im at the point where the sides of the traps are sanded and ready to be stained. The top and bottom pieces are pretty much finished. As you can tell from my pictures my livingroom is a mess (luckily i have a big livingroom, so I can actually do all of my "living" in the other half of the room). In total im making 6 15cm deep traps. Probably not enough for my big room, but hopefully it will make some noticable improvement from no treatment at all. Will put up more pics as soon as i progress more. Thanks for inspiring me to do this! /Jonas |

Thread Starter | I was lazy so I just bought the same fabric Cojo had been using for his traps. DITTE from IKEA. Seems to be doing the job ok, and was fairly cheap. Cant wait to finish these traps! /J |

Thread Starter | Yup, staple gun. Works great if you stretch the fabric enough when you mount it. Thanks for the kind words! /J |
