will these acoustic panels work for anything?

I've got several of these panels left over from my basement ceiling. Do you think these could serve any purpose? Possibly to control the amount of early reflections in my smaller room (13x12x8)? Probably would need to face the exposed fiber glass side out.

(I would use these in addition to making some bass traps)

Just want to put these panels I have hopefully to some good use.

From what I can tell from your link it should work. I would though pull the facing off and stack 2 to make it thicker.. If you want to use them for bass trapping you would want to stack 4 or more and straddle the corner.

Where exactly do you place absorption panels on walls any strategic places? Also should I alternate the panels, fiberglass facing out then the other side facing out?

for the reflection point you will not want the facing at all on them. You could flip to end up with facing against the wall if flush mounting but if stacking 2 together then the front panel (the one on the front) needs the facing removed. And before you ask, you can not have the facing between 2 panels.

you got me!

If I'm using these just to tame early reflections, does it really matter if I have them stacked? Also what kind of frequencies would these panels be absorbing?
