Effectiveness of different corner trapping methods...

Just curious, how effective is this...

...compared to one trap actually straddling the corner? I'm going to have to deal with this sort of door situation in my space and I'd rather not have traps on stands... Does this method still actually absorb what a corner straddling trap would be absorbing?

It works very well, but I've never done a side by side comparison of two traps flat on the walls with a gap versus one trap straddling. That is on my to-do list though.

Wouldnt a triangular air gap be somewhat equiv. to few inchs of spacing from the wall which usualy generate an increse in low feq. absorbtion efficiency....?

I have been working about this myself since I have limited space to my disposal and placing the panels liked showed on the picture above will be preferable,
So how much % of low end efficiency lose are we talking about when placing it right against the wall insted of at the walls joints?

Bass trap straddling the corner would have absorption at lower frequencies due to the mass of air behind it. Unless those panels are membrane panels like RPG Modex Plate or Broadband.
