Acoustic treatment of the ceiling

Maybe this is the wrong place to put this thread but I need some advice. Need to do something with the ceiling in my recording room to avoid standing waves between the ceiling and the floor and to control "too much reverb" in the room.
Any suggestions / experiences to share that do NOT cost a fortune? Or a forum where I can find info?
