Thread Starter | corners that share a door
Hello, first of all thanks to everyone that posts in this forum, i've read alot of helpful information here and in the offsite links. i bet there are people out there that have a room like mine. i'm interested to here creative bass trapping solutions, since i have a bunch of 703 that came in today and i'm eager to get started. here is a crude picture of the back of my room. i'm sitting in 38% spot in the front of the room (not pictured) so my back is to all this. in the right corner of the picture, a closet shares the corner with the wall. in the left corner, a door shares the corner. ________________/ /__ closet | .............................| /............................. | door ........................| /............................. | | .............................| | .............................| here are my two ideas. tell me what you think of them, offer solutions, etc. thanks. idea one: wall to floor bass trap, hang with a chain or something, remove every time i wanna open a door (sounds unsafe and annoying) idea two: build standard 2ft wide superchunk trap in the top corners (the doors don't go all the way to the ceiling, duh) then maybe build moveable superchunks for bottom corners? nice thing is i plan on 4 inch thick standard 2x4ft panels lining the whole back wall so that should help, but still, i don't wanna neglect the corners. thanks in advance, you DIY carpenters! |

Either way to you go will work. Sounds like #2 will cover more area and fill the full corner so that would absorb more low end over all. But like I said if it does not work out, #1 will work well. Glenn

put the bass traps at the back wall/ceiling intersection (up high), cover the back wall with your 2 x 4 panels (including the closet door).... and dont worry about the other door, or if you do worry, put a similar reflective surface on the opposite wall (mirror?) to obtain better symmetry.. gl |
