Thread Starter | Need Help Treating My Room Hi! I need some help figuring out how I should treat my home studio. I've attached a drawing, but basically it's 16'x22' rectangle with 8 foot ceilings. I built it out in an old barn. The floors and walls are built up off of the concrete floor of the barn (is that called a floating floor?) and sound proofing really isn't a problem. The thing is the walls and ceilings are all roughsawn cedar panels, so it looks amazing, but there are all kinds of reflections. I want to tame these reflections, but I'm also not too fond of hanging a lot of stuff permanently on the walls. I was thinking of making some 2'x4' panels with some aborbtion one one side and diffusion on the other side that I could move around as I see fit. This room is for both recording and mixing. Any ideas? Also, I know my monitors are not in a ideal spot, but because of the way I built shelves and storage for amplifiers, they're not going anywhere. Thanks in advance! -Zach |

| Welcome to Gearslutz ![]() A few things, -Face the right short wall. -Put your mix spot (where you sit) 38% from the wall. I believe that would be 8.36' -Treat all corners with bass traps with a core of mineral wool or OC -Treat early reflection points on right/left and ceiling. see the following page to give you some guidance on room set up. I know you said you didn't want to move the speakers, but if you follow Glenn's suggestions you'll get better use of the room. Plus, as you can see, Glenn has a kind face, and can therefore be trusted. Frank
