Just placed an order for Ready Acoustics Ready Bags...

20 tan 6" bags to be specific. Total cost was $588, so around $30 a bag. I've already got one frame with semi-rigid insulation in it ready to be bagged. Once I get the bags, I'll make sure my frame works well and then build 19 more assuming I don't need a different design. The way I'm making them, the total cost for wood should be about $80. Cost for the insulation (Roxul Safe'n'Sound) was $180.

So just about $850 for 20 6" traps, making that $42 per trap. Not bad, and honestly, very easy to build.

I'll report back with my thoughts on the bags when they arrive, and include pics of course. I'm very excited to finally be on my way to a better sounding room!

Wow- yeah thats a killer bargain if your frame/design works out- I'll be interested in the results! I purchased just 3 those bags, but with the wool/frame installed, I think they were around double what your doing it for- let us know

I just got finished, like 30 minutes ago, stuffing my 12 ready bags.I can't believe the difference the bags make! I put them all over my room and just started to listen to a couple of songs, and man the sound just opened up on my new hs50m's that I just got. FedEx dropped off my yammy's before I went into work last night and I was not overly impressed by them. After I put all my traps in the room, the difference is really night and day! The bags, which are black btw, look great! Except for some mineral wool that found there way to the outer surface of the bags, but I will clean them up later today. I'm very happy with my bags so far and can't wait to play around with some placement to get my room as perfect as I can get it.
