Would High Density 'Memory Foam' work for Bass traps?

I may have access to a bunch of this stuff for the cost of shipping.... How would it compare to rockwool?

I am with avare. Check to see if the website has any lab testing for absorption.

They won't have any test data - a friend of my gf's works at a factory that makes those expensive memory foam mattresses (think Tempurpedic).

I really doubt it will work.

Stick with the real deal, mineral wool or rigid fiberglass.

I asked for links. Links may describe the material in greater that we can use to give informed opinions.

AgentSanchez,
If anyone would know Avare would be able to help you out. Give him the link and let him check it out. BTW if you do plan on buying from us send us a email and we can go over your room to figure out what might work best.

Glenn

I don't have a link but I'll see if my gf knows the name of the company. If I can track something down I'll post it.

Glenn - I'm moving into a new apartment in July, and I'll have some fairly specific requirements/constraints in treating the room, so I'll send over some info once I move in.

Another thing about most types of foam---

Have you ever held a match to it outdoors?
It goes from pretty mattress/ sound absorber into tarry goo in about 4 seconds!

Personally, I wouldn't ever want that on my walls or anywhere near cables or lights. After switching to fiberglass (which practically is fireproof), I quickly ripped off all of the old foam.

Don't wanna see this guy...hjgh fgg

Here's the first paragraph from a link I found after searching for "tempurpedic mattress sound coefficient." And here's the link if anyone wants to read the rest. Mattress Buy Guide

Mattresses hold assuage pronounce and push of the recent world
In the recent gild that we springy in today, pronounce is an fateful disease that the teenaged and older hit to care with on a regular basis. That is ground the mattress that we ingest to rest on at period is so essential to our upbeat and well-being. The mattress that we rest on has a DIRECT gist on how flourishing and trenchant we are when we are awake!

I can only guess that the text is either a joke or a really bad translation from Swedish (tempurpedic is supposedly made in Sweden). Enjoyably wack!
