Thread Starter | My room has no corners!!!
Damn. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a more accurate sketch about my new control room (sorry about the chair, i didnt make one so i used a toilet )Even tho the room is rectangular, the usable space is mostly a square, since the extra space is being used by the vocal booth for the most Now. i dont have any corners to put my bass traps!! Front left and right are blocked by two windows next to each corner. The bottom left is blocked by the door (it opens inside the room to the left).. and the bottom right corner virtually doesnt exist, because the "virtual" right wall is the vocal booth, and i have one corner, far away from the mixing setting, in a thin corredor So.. what can I do? Im planning on puting bass traps in all available space like the rear wall, left wall and the middle space btw the 2 windows. Any other advices?? ![]() ![]() |

In a room like that, I'd put bass traps on stands, and move them into the corners when you are doing critical listening, and move them out of the way when you need to. Also you will want to treat the wall/ceiling corners, in addition to the rear wall. Any traps you mount flush on the wall (ie, not straddling corners) should be spaced out from the wall a few inches; making that spacing the same as the panels are thick is a good rule of thumb.

Any way you can turn the mix spot so you are facing the wall to the left? I agree to put the bass traps on stands and also straddle ceiling to wall corners. Glenn

What are you talking about? There are tons of corners in there. Just none that are wall to wall. Plenty of wall to ceiling and wall to floor corners though! I agree, it'd be better if you could shift your listening position 90 degrees. If you face towards that giant brown thing (?) you might be able to use the empty spaces on the walls to position early reflection traps. |

Thanks for the tips So far, IMO thats the better spot. Everytime I think of a different spot I lose something. In that case Glenn, my rear wall will be the booth/glass. And if I put any panel beside me. i will block any visual contact from the vocal booth. I rather have my real wall available for treatment |
