Painted artist canvas for covering DIY broadband acoustic trap

Hi

I wonder which is general opinion regarding covering a DIY broadband acoustic trap (Isover mineral wool) with hand painted "artist canvas". Should I worry about some kind of reflections or someting similar ?

My main purpose of doing that is purely estetical so if it's a no-no I'll forget about painting

Cheers,

Sven

I've done that before. It might reflect a little bit, but really I can't imagine it's a problem.

I posed this question before and was informed that it shouldn't be a problem. I believe my answer came from Glenn at GIK and Ethan at Real Traps if memory serves me correctly.

If the paint is thick, it will reflect some higher frequencies. Not really too big a deal for most people I'd think. Ideally you'd use a very thin paint that wouldn't fill in the 'holes' in the fabric, allowing it to breathe.
