Noise reduction coefficient - How do I interpret the numbers?

Wikipedia:

An NRC of 0 indicates perfect reflection; an NRC of 1 indicates perfect absorption.

But I see NRC's above 1. For example a 12x12x24 foam bass trap wedge has an overall NRC of 1.35.

That's above 1 so what does that mean?

First, NRC is a useless spec for music purposes because it considers only speech frequencies. As for coefficients larger than 1, that's explained here:
