FRK question

I'm going to retrofit my broadband traps with FRK. My traps are made of rigid fiberglass or something very similar, wrapped with some fabric. Each trap is three 2" slabs stuck together.

How many layers of FRK should I apply to each trap? Maybe 3 or even 4 layers, one on each side of all the slabs? Or maybe just one layer, on the side of the traps that's facing the room? My guess is that more layers would be better, to help reflect the mids and highs more, but I'd like to hear some advice before doing the work.

Only one and that goes to the face (the part facing the room).

Thanks for the reply.

Are you sure though? If I were to get fiberglass with FRK pre-fitted on one side of each 2" slab, that would result in three FRK layers in a 6" trap. Wouldn't the other layers help further? Just want to make sure before I begin fixing the traps.

Lightbulb

No, the extra layers will hurt, not help.

Cool, thanks a lot to both of you.

I just got the materials. Off to work, then.
