DIY Bass Traps/Ceiling Cloud Question

For my new room I plan on treating the ceiling and the corners. Could I make ceiling clouds by constructing 2'x4' frames, and stick 2 layers of Owen's Corning in, and then cover all of that in fabric?

And could I make bass traps this same way? or do they have to be a little denser?

Thanks so much. I'm new to acoustics, the new room is the only reason I go into sound treatments.
