About How many Panels???

I have a 23'X19' rectangular room, 8' cieling that i use for tracking/mixing. I record drums and everything else. I have 4 GIK 244 along with the 12-4" broadband absorbers That I built. I was planning on building more as I need to make some clouds to put over the mixing, drum and vocal tracking areas. I'm just wondering how many of these absorbers would be needed for my space?

I've attached a sketch of my room setup so you folks can get an idea.

For the cloud you want to cover as much area between you and the montors and for over the drums cover as much of the foot print on the ceiling as possible. So measure that out on the floor and cover away.

I was kind of figuring as much. Should I make the clouds 4inch or 2 inch? I've placed the 4inch panels I made in the 1st relflection areas, on the walls and the vocal tracking area (not a booth.) Should i replace them with some 2inch panels instead and take the 4inch panels and use them as clouds instead?

2" for the side walls or the ceiling will work just fine. Yes 4" will give you a bit more absorption on the low end but not like straddling corners though.

Ok. I guess i'll use the 4 inch traps over the mix position, drums and vocal area and put 2 inch traps on the rest of the cieling. I'm guesing i'll put the 4 inch traps also behind the mix position/drums then use the rest to straddle the corners from cieling/wall because I have doors and windows that kind of get in the way of straddling from wall to wall corners.
Does this sound like a good idear?

I think that should work just fine.
