which acoustic treatment?

Hi,

I recently moved to a new place and so did my homestudio. Although my new Control/Recording room sounds far better than
my tiny litle old room, I want to spend some time and money (about 1000 Euro) on Acoustic Treatment. Probably my best way would be to get some "Mini Traps". Unfortunatly I can´t get them directly in Germany. I would have to import them from the UK which is quite exspensive.
Most Dealers here only offer those Studio Kits from "Primacoustic"
So I wondered if anyone had any experience with them and how well do they improve the room.
I know I have some Bass issues aswell as clutter echoes But what is the best way to exactly determine the problematic frequencies?
I´d really appreciate any feedback

I've been in a similar position myself recently, looking to sort out a basement room I have. I found Ethans FAQ very helpful, practical and informative.

I have just ordered a load of rigid fibreglass to get to work with...

Yeah Ethan'[s site is awesome. in the meantime, I just bought loads of rigid fibreglass and put that in the corners of my room and for the first time ever my mixes translated elsewhere. Total cost not more than 100 english pounds...!!!! Didnt even need the bass traps...!!!!
