bryan said that the front wall should not have frk paper on the traps. i am not 100% clear if this means the corner traps aswell. i'd like to clarify this before i build them. thanks

Lightbulb

Corner traps are not in the line of direct reflections so they should have paper.

If the room is super small I can see that. It is not that you should NOT do it but in some cases it is best to go one way or another.

I have a small room and asked the same question to Bryan. His suggestion was that if I do decide to do FRK on the front corners, make sure that l only do about 2 or 3 feet up from the floor, stopping before I get to ear level. Make sense to me for a small room.

well guys it seems that i've gotten a little bit of mixed responses. my front speakers will be directly in front of the corner traps (if this helps to get a clearer answer from anyone please feel free to let me know). i also have a bay window the is about 2 feet deep behind the flush mounted screen. again i'm not sure if i should use frk paper on the traps behind the screen?, and does the screen material absorb or reflect the highs?

It is not a point of right or wrong but how big your room is and how anal you want to get. Bryan’s advice on putting the area right behind the monitors without FRK is right, but if you did have FRK back there it would not be the end of the world. If you want to make darn sure then do it the way Bryan said.

Hope I didn't confuse things. I should have mentioned that Bryan's advice to me was based on my room specifically.

In a wider room, and in a studio environment, FRK on the corners will be fine. In a narrower room where the corners might be relatively close to the listening position, I'd not cover them with FRK to avoice any HF reflections off the back wall, then off them at me.
