More Bass Trapping or Helmholtz ??

Hi All. Was wondering if anyone could help. I currently have the four corners of my studio filled with wedges and stradled half way up the wall in a 4x2' frame. I still have a particular peak at 48hz that I am trying to tame and was wondering if it would be better to go from floor to ceiling with the wedges or build 4 Helmholtz resonators to target that particular freq. My friend is a carpenter and would do it for free. Thanks for any thoughts in advance.

I think I would want to see a test graph of the room before telling you. I have a feeling you may have more problems then just at 48hz and if you do then I would go broadband.

I can only get that for you next week Glenn and I will. Just out of curiosity I am using the mhSoft software to design the resonators. For that particular freq the volume would be 180.00 Liter. How much would a single resonator attenuate that freq. Thanks again.

I'd treat all the corners with broadband absorption first. And don't forget that most rooms have 12 corners, not only 4!

How big is your room?

Hi Ethan, My room is 22 feet long, 10 feet wide and 8'10" tall. I also have 8 mid/high traps. 3 behind the monitors, 2 by the side, 2 between monitors and mix position and another two at the half way point & the very back wall in the middle is a 4' wide 8'10' panel which has 6" of rockwool in. Thanks.
