small apartment

i've got a small apartment that i've been working in for about three months. I've got 12 bass traps (broadband really)---a combination of realtraps, GIK's, and some home-made uglies.
ive taken care of pretty much everything besides the ceiling.
Now, I don't own the place . . .
I'd like to put a trap of some sort up there, but I just don't know how to mount it. the ceiling has got that acoustic crap on it (popcorn whatever) so i don't know what my options are.
if anyone's got some helpful hints, i'd be greatful.
thanks guys.

When you say "acoustic crap" popcorn, you are just talking about dry wall with the popcorn ceiling, right? As far as mounting I would just suspend it down from the ceiling 2". Depending on size of the mix area, 2 to 5 2'x4' panels (2” thick) should do the trick. For hooks in the ceiling look at home depot or lowes for a hook called "Versa Hooks" make from OOKS. They should be a OOKs display there will all kinds of different things.

Is their by chance wood crown molding at the top of the walls? If so you could use tiny nails and stretch two pieces of fishing wire across the room, and rest a panel on the wires.

I had a customer do that not so long ago. Cool idea, but I would think the wire would have to be pretty darn tight.

yeah, it's the drywall with popcorn. I just wasn't too sure if screwing hooks into it would make a huge mess or create a funny situation once I move out of here.
thanks for the help guys. I'll probably hang some 2" panels of rockwool within the next few days.
