cheap room treatment?

i have a bare room with bare walls made out of the regular wally stuff. It's got a huge window with plastic blinds (now if this sounds familar to you, yes it's a bed room). At any rate, i saw people using peices of foams to soak up the sounds for recording, i'm thinking that it'll help? What can i do about the window?

Also what and where can i get those foams? and how do i know which locations to hang them up? thanks.

The other poster gave you a great place to hang out to get your feet wet and not that I don't want to answer you questions, but you may want to take a read here to help you get up to speed on room acoustics and how it works.

Quite honestly, cheap foam isn't worth spending any money on. It's cheap for a reason, it doesn't work well. For $200 you could by a good amount of mineral wool or OC703 that would do a MUCH better job.
