Treating a loft area help

I am building a studio in my loft. there are 2 walls and the otherside is open to the down stairs. The front is open(stairs and hallway to bedrooms)

What kind of curtains can I use to wrap around the open loft section to the stairs. are their any curtains that act as bass traps.

I am going to put bass traps and Auralex sonoflats on the 2 walls that I can. I need to get the room under control..

Also where is a good place to buy these curtains

thanks

Delayed two days for bumping after 2 hours!

Any thick curtains will do. The low end absorption is more a function of how open or closed they are draped and the location near a wall.

Where can you buy them? There is the textile district right in town (Ottawa Street). You are near Hamilton, right? IOW where in the world are you?

Seriously enjoy the loft!

Curtains aren't much use as acoustic treatment unless they're really REALLY thick. Even then...

From your other questions it sounds like you'll benefit greatly from my Acoustics FAQ:

Acoustic Treatment and Design for Recording Studios and Listening Rooms

Then follow up with any questions here. Also, as Andre said (Hi Andre!) you'll get much better advice if you tell us where in the world you are!
