Rockwool RW45 in corners question...

hi,

ideally wanted some rw5 (100kg/m3 density), but its hard to source so am going with RW45 (45kg/m3).

Is rw45 rigid enough? Is it easy to attach to the corners without a frame-i.e. just wrapped in muslin, or will it flop around?

lasltly, I wanted to attach it to the wall just with picture hooks, as anything more will incur the wrath of my long suffering wife, who doen't appreciate the beauty of acoustic treatment..will this compromise the performance at all?

cheers
josh

Josh,

Thanks for moving this to the public forum.

I've always use only 703 and 705 rigid fiberglass, so I'm not intimately familiar with rock wool. But all of the RW I've ever seen is indeed floppy and needs a frame. So just buy it and you'll know soon enough what else is needed.

It doesn't matter how you physically attach it. The main point is just to have it in the room at the right places.

if you are clever about it.. you can make it look nice with a wood frame.. and your wife wont complain! best of both worlds i think!
