learning about properties of sound

hey guys any good articles I can read that will help me better understand how properties of sound waves and such work, so I can make better recordings by knowing how an instrument can react to the room it's in?

too much ground to cover in an article. look for used textbooks.

I dont mean that in a smart ass way. Rooms, and the way waves interact is more about acoustics. You could find a whole textbook on that alone. Maybe someone else here can point you in the right direction, but I dont know of any single articles that can explain such a complex amount of variables.

the best way (imo) to learn about the properties of sound in rooms is to spend a lot of time, preferably an unhealthy amount of time, generating, recording, and manipulating those sounds.

This article on my company's site covers some of what you're asking for:

RealTraps - Recording Spaces

There are many others like that on the same site.
