How does bass trapping work?

I just moved to a new location...my new contol room dimensions are 10 X 10 X 12 feet.

Eeek.

My old room was near golden dimensions, so I didn't need any bass trapping. Now, I do.

What would you guys recommend I do? I need a cheap, easy, space-conserving solution.

The room response DOES NOT need to be perfect. Just a little more toward the way of 'normal.'

I've got a bunch of Minitraps from Realtraps and they help quite a bit. I'd like to add more.

Yes, you need bass trapping. The more you can fit in, the closer you'll get to a flat bass response. It's impossible to make a room that size and shape perfectly flat. But you can definitely get from "This sucks" to "Wow, pretty good!"
