Thread Starter | Acoustics: Corner bass trap size
I'm building "super chunk" bass traps and wondered if I should cut the slabs in 4 or 8 pieces. If I cut them in pieces of 4 the sides are 600 mm (23.6 inches), and 424 mm (16.7 inches) if I cut them in 8. How much more efficient do you think the traps will be with the grater dimensions? |

It won't be twice as effective, but will do a better job. Sorry but there is no lab data so that is about the best anyone can tell you. But you are better off (if you are limited in product) to cover more surface area, then making half the amount that would be twice as big. Most guys make them with a 24" face, which your pretty close to. Hope that helps, ![]() Glenn

Revmen - Its been a while so I am wondering what size you built them and how it worked out for you? I was going to ask the same question as you did, so didn't want to start a brand new thread. Jim |
