Thread Starter | Hep Me build My Acoustic Traps I need some help on building my own bass traps and high frequency absorbers for my room. I was planning on buying them but i've decided why not build them instead so i can save the money. I need hep in to what t do and like what to buy buy at a nice decent price range.I would also prefer to build my own frames instead of buying any. Would be nice if you guys can put up some links or some DIY links and pics of your own built traps. |

| i know this is going to come off as rude, but have you tried searching at all? theres plenty of threads on this forum alone where people show how they built their traps, with pictures and the whole 9 yards. |

| Hey there, and congrats on recognizing the benefits of Bass Traps/ Acoustic panels for your listening space. Here are a few very good resources for Bass Trap and Acoustic Panels designs: Sound On Sound Studio Tips John L Sayers There are many, many more sites that can offer good information for the specific type of absorber(s) you may want for your particular needs. If you are intending to make broadband absorbers, be sure to use at least 4" thickness of Rock Wool or OC703 (3pcf-8pcf) material. Use fabric that you can breathe through and that yields the kind of look you like. If you want a framed look, consider using a flame resistent material for such. Check out the links above first, and post some follow up questions when ever you like. Someone will be here to offer additional advice. Good luck, |

Thread Starter | ive been looking at a few threads and forums o other websites and been getting a better idea of what to do, but another problem i face is i really dont know where i should put my traps in the room. I drew a sketch(dont know if i should even call it this)on the paint program on my pc here it is. I plan on building traps or getting gik since its reasonable, but im thinking of putting the traps as shown here at real traps. Its the layout on the left the one with the less traps not the one with the whole room filled of traps because i cant afford it heres the link. RealTraps - Placing RealTraps |

| Hey there Versatile, I suggest a search on Google for articles written by acoustician Ethan Winer. I have done a lot of study into room acoustics for building my own home studio - and there are a lot of helpful articles regarding building your own bass traps and panel resinators. Remember when applying your treatments to maintain symmetry as this is essential for stereo imaging. Best of luck in your project. |

Thread Starter | i found some great diy links on how to build my traps and to save money i decided on going with mineral wool instead. Last thing i need to know is like how many i need, like what should i do. This is what i am thinking(according to my liitle drawing) Bass traps from ceiling to ground in each of the four corners and in the left and right walls just put one high frequency trap(basically just use a 2 inch traps) and above the mixing desk a bass trap and a high frequency right behind what do you guys think. If need more thinking about 2 more bass traps on the left and right walls at the corner between the ceiling and the wall. |
