I'm playing an un-amplified Collings D that I don't want to alter. It wants to play the Who all day, but I tune it down a tone or so for Neil Young and Martin Simpson stuff. I use an OM for singer songwriter stuff - it has an older Baggs ribbon and I use the Para DI to an older Fishman Pro Performer. I use an Audix OM7 straight into the Fishman for vocals, so that fills my two channels. I'd like to kill the quack on the OM piezo sound and I'd like to amplify the collings D and I'd like a little more available volume. I'm considering adding a Highlander mike to the OM and a Hennrikson (spelling?) powered speaker as a little more volume if I need it. To amplify the Collings I have considered a Sunrise through a not-as-expensive-as-Pendulum pre-amp. Maybe John Hardy? Any ideas? Last edited by Jimijango; 22nd June 2011 at 12:31 AM.. I think, from the posts I've read, I'm going to take the mini-flex over the DPA or Highlander and stick it in the OM along with the active Baggs ribbon UST. I've just got to have some sort of mic for the percussion stuff. I think people miss that a lot when they put in mag or piezo only. I sure did.
