| problem recording acoustic guitar first post here not sure if this is the right place post for my issue, pleez excuse i've been recording acoustic guitar with exact same set up for 3 years (AMD 3800x2, 2 gigs of ram, 650w power supply & EMU 1820M, CAD e300), NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, GREAT RESULTS
i recently switched my 650w power supply & EMU 1820M sound card into a new PC (AMD 6000x2, 3 gigs of ram), & now for the first time ever , when i record acoustic guitar & hit bass notes it sounds horrible & distorted ( this is not a level or mic positioning issue, i remind u, no problems for 3 years , however did i try to experiment by repositioning the mics & adjusting levels , nothing stopped the new awful distortion in the bass note) & all the other band levels sound fine
i'm not too knowledgeable on the hardware technicalities of mics , computers, pci cards & power supplies, but i'm worried that during the procedure of me switching my power supply & sound card into the new pc, that something might have got messed up. Because this has not happen until i've tried to record into the new pc.
or maybe somehow my mics or my audio dock is blown? i've tried everything with in my means to figure this out
any trouble shooting suggestions??
