folk rock guitar - Dylan / Donovan sound.

Any recommendations?

Also, I would plan on recording and playing it live.

I'd like to stay in the 1k range, but I'd be willing to pay more.

Thanks a lot

I'll have to wait for my tax returns to think about picking one up. Looks beautiful and sure it sounds even better.

Dylan has also played Gibson (J-50, J-45, etc) in his time. The most recent photo i've seen is of him with a little moustache, mean eyes, a funny hat, crumpled skin, and a J-45.

j45, southern jumbo....any similar gibson will get it. Also, some of his earlier stuff was on small bodied guitars like the Martin 00 and 000 guitars. They're amazing guitars for recording and sound nice on stage as well. If you're gigging with them, just add a pickup. I really like the 00-15. Not too expensive and sounds great. You can definitely find used for under a grand.

Smaller body guitars like Martin OO, OOO, OM, and Gibson LG often record better than Dreadnought guitars.
