Maybe what you could do if you have the option is, taking the vocals in certain areas of the song and duplicate them and add some pitch changes, offsett for a little delay, that would help. I have done this in the past and it helped my mixes pan out, when I was in the same situation, for a non paying recording you are definatly giving 200%. Maybe experiement with adding some of the beginning vox to the section around .38 through .44 if possible, that might help the mix right there, but only if it is possible. Great job though, it is definatly going to be a great mix..
