I haven't been able to find anything that can emulate an LA2A or LA3A all that well. The Distressor has a pretty cool "brick wall" thing going which has some of the character of the 1176. The cool thing about the Disterssor is it's ability to add nice distortion to what might otherwise be a "generic" sounding source. It's so versatile I find myself turning to it (for flavor) time and time again. So many options! As far as emulation go's however, I haven't heard any acceptable substitute for a real LA2A or 1176.
