Cubase Hard drive Usage question and PDC question

I haven't had this issue before, but in a song im doing now, when the song starts my HD indicator maxes out. I get some audio drop out, and it sounds like the HD is "catching up" to the song..then everything flows fine...but the HD indicator goes full bar at the beginning and then at the end when it is going to restart playing the song.

I have bounced all my VSTIs to audio, so every track is an audio file. But its not a giant song..less then 32 tracks of audio. All the tracks are saved into a standard Cubase directory for the song called audio, and the bounces I did are in a subdirectory under that called bounces, so the computer is not reading from more then 1 HD. Also Cubase is on C:, and my audio is on D:.

Is this a common thing? maybe my HD is going down? I am using a lot of plugs (I'm currently mixing). Just wondered if i should be worried.

As for PDC:

I have an amp miced up and am tracking in at 6ms latency. Should I enable PDC when i record or should I not? I about always enable PDC when i record, and I am wondering if this is the proper way to go.
