The Metric Halo ULN2 (or 2882) are the firewire solutions that I get good reports on. I worked hard to "get them in our stable" because I think they have a design focus (going for sound quality) that few in the firewire business have. Public awareness is low, but a surprising number of high end users really love the way these boxes sound.
