The surround system in layout # 1 is suposed to be a soffit structure made out of wood studs, 703 and cloth wrap. In layout # 2, I thought of placing the speakers in stands, it didn't occur to me hanging them from the ceiling. What benefit would I get from doing that? If going for ceiling mounts, will you choose this layout over soffit mounts?

I thought of placing superchunks on 4 corners, plus building a false ceiling with bass trap hangers hidden inside it. Would this be a good alternative?
