I am a Cincinnati native who's made my way here in Hollywood writing cues and mixing for television and motion pictures. I've got an over the top successful career/life here in Los Angeles and enough credentials to sink a battleship. I am busy 65 hours a week and more is available if my old body would permit, however..........

I'd chuck it all tomorrow for an opportunity to return home.

My kingdom for Red's home games vs Dodger's home games.
In weird way I know what you mean. I grew up in LA, moved to Cincinnati in '87 to open a business. Got married, raised a family. Hate LA. My business partner is in LA and I only see him once every couple of years (under protest). Love Cincy. What a great place to raise kids. Great community (the burbs). It's not perfect but a hell of a lot better than LA.

I mix & record for myself or friends. A lot of my enjoyment comes from DIY'ing my own equipment. I have a complete ANALOG system. Tried computer recording back in the late 80's. It sucked. Spent more money/time with software and hardware issues than I did recording (I hate anything MOTU!). Now I have a 16 Track Otari 90 MK II a couple of analog boards and a bunch of older equipment and mics (decent collection). Plus I have built a half a dozen knock offs of old Tweed Fender amps and am enjoying the heck out of building mic pre's and compressors (LA2A's, 1176's and SSL, Seventh Circle pre's and a Gyraf tube pre).

Would really like to hook up with you guys as my business and family life hasn't allowed me the freedom that I once enjoyed (not that it's a bad thing). But my kids and wife moved to Charlotte, NC (we have a house there, my wife took a promotion with here company). So I have a lot more free time for my hobbies ( I also build motorcycles, put together guitars and am rebuilding a couple of analog consoles).

Really look forward to meeting you guys and seeing where computer recording has gone. The idea of editing in a computer has always intrigued me.

Sorry I rambled on for so long.
