Oh yes, I also use this effect !! (With AirEQ of course !

)
I used more this effect with the lowpass filter, but sometimes I also use the High Pass.
And I believe that since the first Daft Punk album, everybody uses this kind of filtering effect !

If I want to fade in a drumloop with Low Pass filter, it should already work well because the low pass filter can sweep from 20Hz to 20kHz (I guess it works well when using automation. I haven't been able to automate the cutoff frequency because I use only the demo.) But if I want to bring in a bassline for example, I usually use high pass filter and start the sweep from 20kHz that at first nothing goes thru the filter. |
In fact for the moment, AMLT does not allow to do very fast sweeps, as it can be done with a syntheziser's attacks or filter modulations. But for this rather "slow" kind of effect, I found AMLT filters to be perfect : the low pass really gently cut the low pass in an analog way, with the smooth and regular shape of a real analog Low Pass filter.
I personally replaced other "specialized" filters, intended to be used for this type of effect with AirEQ, because I found AirEQ to sound better for a whole range sweep.
So, ok, we will feature an option in a future update to allow the High Pass filter to go up to 20kHz.. But let us some time to implement the L/R mode which is on the way (and I hope it will be great, if some of you would tell me what they think about our L/R settings implementation, please PM me..).
