My old friend (who just happens to be one of the best engineers and coolest people that I've ever known), was named chris p. Are you him?

We're going OT.....
Cool person, possibly... best engineer... not even remotely close... just a long-time hobbyist hack/musician/gear junkie for the most part... so probably not me.

Yeah, despite all the tape-related quirks/hassles, it seems like I used to actually record more stuff then... though I was also young and had no real resposiblity either. I do feel bogged down in technology often... too many options instantly at hand these days. And there's certainly no replacement for good ol' tape saturation and warmth. Just wanted to let a 17-year old kid know that tape ain't an easy road sometimes. The only maintenance people are used to nowadays is defragging a drive and backing up files. Not a lot of knowhow/skill required there.

OK, back to the topic at hand.
