I find 57's do that 2-cycle motor-bike through you nose thing and 80's metal sound like no other mike can. Of course it can be used for lots of other effects as well but I just think there are usually better, more agile sounding mics for the job than the 57.
On the other hand, I love the 121. Lots of body, depth, flesh.... what you call mud. I know others that feel like I do.
So, I suspect, you're either one or the other. Or neither. Or both..... |
