That's interesting, I chose to stop using the G series comp on the insert and instead I'm mixing into it, then my Portico 5042 then my UA2192 converter, then to the master recorder. Maybe it was the Trident, I'm not sure...but I prefer its sonic signature this way with 2.5:1, 0 thresh, med attack & auto release, no make up gain ('course the 5042 is another gain stage with color) but hey, the clients love the results.
