I've got an API 3124 and I do love it aswell as a Focusrite 428, I need more good pre's for Jazz and Big band acts live, aswell as doing rock bands in one take.

Will the Spiders fat setting give me something close to the API?

Its a tough call as I can't wait for a demo unit to come along to test, but from what I've seen it gets the thumbs up from most.

The Spider seems a more sensible option given the switchable pre colour and the fact it's already got great convertors, helps as I don't have to get another Digidesign 192, I just have to get the Digi digital i/o.
