I agree with this.
I don't know about elsewhere, but in the Philly music scene, Myspace keeps us all connected and informed about what's going on in the scene, who's playing where, etc. A lot of collaborations have grown out of it.
The added feature of having MP3's posted is cool, but it's not what it's really all about.
