Something that occurred to me when reading this part was that you should verify that such a place (affordable and out in the country) has decent and reliable electrical service. Sure, you'll need power conditioning anyway, but if the location is prone to frequent blackouts / brownouts / surges / dirty AC waveforms / etc. it may be best to look elsewhere.
