In this OH setup, I had enough meat from the snare and toms to have plenty of fun with. Very punchy. I could have managed to put only three mics on this kit although I chose to put more since the style of music was Tool-ish/Evanescence-ish

Both mics were equidistant with both kicks and having the snare centered in the middle.

height: two and 3/4 drumstick over snare and about three drumsticks apart to get a good stereo image of the kit.

SD U99 was very nice in front of the kit. Good combo with the D112 inside the BD about a foot from the beater. (all in phase)

Amazing drummer, experienced studio musician. (big factor for good sound)

Kitchen had good acoustics (My dad always prefers to play his madolin there)

The TLM 103 in far corner facing the wall away from the kit (thanks Jules for this... wish I had your M149's though!) blended in nicely. through 1176 UAD-1 all buttons in.

Anyhow, capturing the two kicks was a first for me. Having them both equidistant in the OH's was most important. The right OH mic is pointing a little more to the snare.

I have the sm81 on the hats although it's not really needed.

Well, that's about it.

Thanks!

ps: those plants in the corner are good bass traps haha
