Hey there Jonsey. There's a lot going on at the Apple/Logic disscussion board about this. I just bought a PPC Quad not knowing about this b.s. and I installed the 7.2.2 update thinking it was for the ppc quad. The old quad has been around for a year and no fix. The new Intel comes out and within months it's done. Don't wait for it...There is a trick people have been doing called the 'node hack/trick'. If you're running 7.2.2 then install node 7.2.2. Set up the node in Audio/Prference then close Logic. Start the node, start Logic and your G5 should show up as a node. People have been able to get up to 350% of the 400% available. I tried it and got many clicks and pops. I haven't hit the ceiling on this Quad yet so I haven't messed with it since.
