Agreed. For about $100 bucks I really can't complain. It has worked fantastically for me on certain snare drums, and sounded like total crap on others. I also tried it on a loud guitar amp or two and didn't care for it over a 57. I've heard others speak of a shell resonance 'problem' with the Ball at high SPL's-I think this is part of the quirkiness/sound of this mic. IMO if you're someone who already has a couple of the usual suspects this is not a bad mic to add to your arsenal.
